About Us

AVASC Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization that aims to recognize and reward academically talented individuals and to serve the underprivileged. We are a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Some of our activities include:

Our long-term sights are set on constructing a state-of-the-art eye hospital in India and a school in the New York area that nurtures academic talent.

We initiated an annual mathematics competition to kindle talented mathematical minds by providing a forum for the exhibition and enhancement of problem solving skills. The examination is designed to challenge students through problems not normally encountered in most school environments. Although the questions deal exclusively with precalculus material, many of them require creative problem-solving approaches. This examination consists of two parts: a 60-minute 20-question multiple-choice section and a 60-minute 4-question essay / proof section.

The purpose of this examination is two-fold: to promote enthusiasm and excitement towards mathematics, and recognize and reward the young talent that is in our midst today. We believe it is vital to identify and encourage these creative and gifted students who have the promise of becoming talented scientists of tomorrow.
